As I sit here on my bed sipping a beer I recently purchased from a chino (they seriously call stores run by chinese people "chinos"), I can't stop thinking about fish egg sacks, pig testicles, chicken feet and congealed pig's blood. All were way too accessible at the traditional Spanish market I went to today with my Spanish class. I pretty much eat anything so most of the bizarre foods at these markets don't freak or gross me out. But nibbling on a fish egg sack that looks like a flaccid penis on steroids (seriously look up "huevas de pescado," hint: its the fucking disgusting looking pic) just didn't appeal to me. Neither did gnawing at some chicken feet or slurping down congealed blood like the Mosquito in A Bug's Life (Go to 0:38, still the funniest thing I have ever seen).
Yet I still very much enjoyed my visit. Although there is a market near where I live, it is much more modern and bougie than the one I visited today. It was nice to walk around and see (and smell) the local atmosphere at a fresh Spanish food market....... You like the word bougie? My friend keeps saying it and I laugh every time. Maybe it's the way he says it.
This brings up another topic. This friend of mine is cool, funny, smart, immature like me, and gay. I have been attending American University for two and half years and have ZERO gay friends. This is kind of troubling as half of the population of American is gay. Other than a gay french waiter who gave me and my friend a free drink in Paris because I have beautiful eyes (I miss you Claude), I haven't had a close gay friend. I now have a chance to befriend two really cool gay guys and I am a little nervous. I seriously feel like sometimes I am trying too hard to bond with them (was that gay? jk, fuck social conservatives). Whatever... if it's meant to be right?

European Living
So I recently purchased my first articles of clothing in Spain. Obviously they were very European and sexy. A nice sweater, button down, and two pairs of pants. They weren't very expensive but the effect of using euros instead of dollars make them seem less expensive than they actually are. 40 euros sounds a whole lot better than $55. Oh well. They really accentuate my claves and crotch. That's all that matters right? Calves and crotch.
I am starting to put together some travel plans for the semester. This next weekend I will be going to Andalucia with kids in the other program. I'm still not sure what I will be doing for spring break or the week or two at the end of my program that's free, but I want to travel to Berlin, Barcelona, London, and maybe Italy or Greece or Djibouti. I wanna go to Djibouti.
I recently bought a plane ticket to Amsterdam for the weekend after Andalucia. A couple of my friends are coming along as well. I have never been, but I look forward to the copious amounts of heroin.

My First Impressions of Madrid
As I write this first blog post on our recently critically acclaimed blog I am preparing to leave to hang with some friends at a nearby Sangria joint. Sangria, friends, spaniards, hookers, what more could a guy want? So yeah things are going well so far. Mom, Dad, I'm not banging any hookers. Prostitution however is legal so many a time I have been asked. I take this as a compliment.
My beautiful olive skin helps draw people away from my Jew nose so I think I can pull off the whole "Not a tourist" thing. Well, except for not being able to speak the language. Spanish has always been a struggle for me. I am taking it four times a week and living in a homestay with a madre who doesn't speak english. I should be able to get some sexy chicas into bed by the end right?
I live with my friend Conor who has joined me in retelling our magical stories to our thousands of readers. We live in the Chueca region of Madrid, which is officially the best neighborhood in the city. Almost every student friendly club or bar is in walking range so I can get fucked up wherever and walk back at any time. The only negative (another positive?) is once in a while hookers will come up and will ask to fuck. And for a moment you pause and ponder that question (It's a joke mom seriously I'm not.) And it's Chueca so sometimes the hookers are gay!
Since the metro closes at 1:30am and doesn't re-open until 6am, a lot of other students have to choose between going home at like 1am (that's early for all you old fuckers who go to bed after a nice early bird special at 5pm) and staying up til 6am to take the metro back. Conor and I can stumble back to our apartment cross faded at any time.
Masturbation has been somewhat of a habit for me here. I recently had to say goodbye to my girlfriend for the semester so I have been relying on my left hand. I have my own room so it's not too hard to get a couple of minutes (30 seconds "cough cough") to myself.
Now it's time for some sangria.

So far in Madrid... (First Post)

Whatsup yall, C Manc writing from central Spain. That's right, kid's in Madrid for the next 4 months....and that's right Mom, doing nothing but RAGING. It's a lot of fun here; that goes without saying. The night life is a vast extension of its American counterpart. I've been out until 6am multiple nights. In addition, the ladies here tend to appreciate a more civilized approach to RAGING; they were neither accepting of my dance moves nor my belligerently smooth pick-up lines. Didn't make much sense to me, I mean I was only being friendly. Whitney and I have become friends with a couple natives here, Carmen and Gonzalo, which has been awesome. Carmen finds my American shenanigans funny, and Gonzalo, well, Gonzalo gets me weed. He's cool too though, we bonded over the classic Wendy's Baconator one night after tapas. Let's talk about my Spanish mom a bit, Sensi. Ya she's chill, real sweet lady. She even let me and Whitney partake in a three-some with her! Seriously though, she is a sweetheart, making sure to have lunch for us if we are home and always being in a cheerful mood. Came home today to my whole room cleaned up, which was so sweet but I felt bad.
